The Warren County Screaming Devils faced off against the Hancock Central Bulldogs on Oct. 25, defeating them 52-8.
WCHS also celebrated senior night, honoring the team’s 10 seniors.
Warren County opened up the night’s scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run by Justyn Stanford. Travis Moss scored the two-point conversion, bringing the score to 8-0.
AJ Stanford scored WCHS’ second touchdown on a 28-yard run, and he also scored the two-point conversion. With that, the score went to 16-0.
In the second quarter, AJ Stanford again ran for a touchdown, this time from six yards out. Moss scored the two-point conversion to put the Screaming Devils up 24-0.
Hancock Central scored their only touchdown of the game on a 13-yard pass in the second quarter, bringing the score to 24-8.
During the third quarter, Moss found the end zone for two touchdowns, one on a six-yard run and another on a seven-yard run. Moss also scored the two-point conversion on one of the touchdowns to bring the score to 38-8.
In the final quarter, WCHS tacked on two more touchdowns by AJ Stanford. He scored on a 35-yard rushing touchdown and on a 12-yard rushing touchdown. The two-point conversion on the first one failed, but Moss scored the two-point conversion to finalize the scoring at 52-8.
According to Hudl, AJ Stanford led the Screaming Devils in rushing with 14 carries for 158 yards and four touchdowns. Moss had 14 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Dairon Jones had 15 carries for 95 yards, and Justyn Stanford had five carries for 44 yards and one touchdown.
On Nov. 1, WCHS will travel to Augusta to play their final regular season game against Aquinas.
