It has been a tough week for the Runnin Bucs, having faced two formidable opponents this past week; fortunately, both games were non-conference. The Runnin Bucs are currently 2-0 in their conference play and ranked 2nd.

The Runnin Bucs started the week with an easy win over the Nathaniel Green Patriots, winning 70-37 on January 4th. Junior Andrew Stapleton led the team with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Preston Myhand had an impressive 13 points.

The mid-week game on January 5th was much tougher as the Runnin Bucs fell to the Piedmont Academy Cougars 58-95. Again, Andrew Stapleton led the team with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Freshman Charlie Mosley had his best game this season with 11 points.

The January 7th game with Glascock County was cancelled. The week ended with a 48-72 loss to the Westminster Wildcats at home on Saturday, January 8th.

Missing the game was Andrew Stapleton whose absence was clear felt. Taking up the slack as Center was Senior Cameron Perkins whose valiant effort just was not enough against the Wildcats who are now 9-5 on the season. Preston Myhand led the team with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

“The first three games from the break haven't been our best. We are still trying to get back into the swing of things after having time off. The kids are playing hard and we will work to fix our issues to get ready for the 3 region games we have coming up,” said Head Coach Justin Sheppard.

This week the Runnin Bucs have scheduled 3 conference games. Tuesday, January 11th they will take on the Brentwood War Eagles at home 7:30 pm. Friday, January 14th, 7:30 pm, they will travel to Athens where they will play the Monsignor Donovan Rams.

They will finish the week on Saturday, January 15th at home, 4:00 pm, against the Augusta Prep Cavilers .
