Zenia Nava lives and breathes soccer. She has been playing for most of the 18 years of her life and is becoming an emerging force in women’s matches.

It all comes down to ultimate bragging rights this Saturday night when former Thomson High School basketball stars host former hoops players from Warren County High School.

The day of the fourth annual Drake Widener Tournament, the rain poured down but stopped before the memorial and fundraiser event began. In the last two years of the tournament, it has rained.

Over the July 19 weekend, the FreeBandz Elite travel ball team in Thomson won the United States Basketball Association(USBA) national championship, beating out 91 teams at the seventh grade level.  

Brirawood Academy Senior Lucas Hopkins won  the Furman Junior Classic for his age group in the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT)  during the week of July 6. The tour was held at Furman  University Golf Course.

After playing as a wing guard with the Thomson High School Bulldogs for four years, making 17.8 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two steals per game on average, Malcolm Daniels II signed to the Chattanooga State Tigers on June 27 in the Thomson High School Media Center.

While many are enjoying summer vacations with trips to the beach, mountains, or other places, the Thomson Bulldog football team has been devoting time to getting better.

Cordaro Crawford has been named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association. Crawford is the assistant coach for the Thomson High School varsity boys basketball team, the head coach for boys junior varsity, and a math teacher at the school. He’s worked at THS since 2010.

Thomson High School announced the naming of a new head baseball coach last week, and they didn’t have to look far for their final decision.
