Dameon Arnette is congratulated by Coach Nick Rau after reaching third in a previous game against Glascock County.

Last Friday Thomson’s Diamond Dogs headed to Gibson to face Glascock County for the second time early in the season. The Dogs had defeated the Panthers the Saturday before, but this time Glascock took the win.

Glascock edged out a 2-1 win over Thomson. Thomson had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Then, Glascock tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

In the end, Glascock scored a game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Thomson senior Dameon Arnette led the Dogs at the plate with two hits. Matthew Dena, Jackson Purvis, and Ashton Perry each had one hit.

Purvis had two stolen bases and Eli Bragg had one.

On the mound, Dena pitched six innings, gave up three hits, and had seven strikeouts.
