Iraon Tabyron Burnett, 32, transitioned into his heavenly home on September 19, 2021. He leaves to treasure his legacy; his wife, Donna Burnett, his children Lachance Burnett, Layla Burnett, LaBrendin Burnett, and Lira Burnett, his parents Ira and Brenda Burnett, his siblings Latoya (Antonio) Gilmore and Chastiny (Marcus) Hill. Lawana Chalker Coxwell

Warrenton, Georgia- Mrs. Lawana Chalker Coxwell, age 97, entered into rest on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Washington County ECF, Sandersville. Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 4 pm in Johnson Church Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Harwell officiating. The family received friends following the service. Mrs. Coxwell was born on June 20, 1924, in Glascock County, GA. She was the daughter of Matthew F. Chalker and Marietta Norris Chalker. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church until she married and joined Johnson Methodist Church in Warren County, where during her life she taught and served faithfully. She began work at the Post Office in Gibson during WWII. Upon marrying she worked in garment manufacturing at Garland Knitting/HealthTex. After retiring she worked part-time at Chardan Ltd. In Thomson, Ga. Mrs. Coxwell enjoyed cooking and sewing, but her greatest enjoyment was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (8) and great grandmother (15). She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lewie B. Coxwell and survived by her three children L. Dan Coxwell (Judy) Washington, GA, Dennis Coxwell (Fran) Warrenton, GA, and Betty Coxwell Sandersville, GA. Thomson - Mr. Eduardo Felix, Jr., 69, entered into rest on September 23, 2021. Mr. Felix was born in El Paso, Texas on September 25, 1951, grew up there and moved to Thomson, Georgia 33 years ago. He was a member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Eduardo retired from Amcor, Inc., he was very patriotic, loved the beach, traveling, the Atlanta Braves, spending time with family and loved his grandkids. He was everyone’s “Pop” Mr. Felix is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo Felix, Sr. and Juanita Marin Felix and his sister, Margarita Ochoa. His survivors include his loving wife, Maria Gamboa Felix; his daughters, Andrea Bohler (Dan), Karina Shelton (Marvin) and Denisse Bonner (Billy); his sister Isela Avila (Luis-Angel); his grandchildren Elena Sirmans (James), Abbie Bohler, Andrew Bohler, Ethan Shelton, Anna Shelton, Raziel Felix, Melina Bonner, his great grandchildren, Rylee Campbell and Bryer Sirmans and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Beggs Funeral Home with the Memorial Service, being officiated by Father Stephen Lyness, following visitation. Statesboro - Georgia Mrs. Janie Mae Hobbs age 78 formerly of Thomson, GA. passed away Tuesday September 21, 2021 at The Gardens at Southern Manor. She was the daughter of the late George and Mattie Zigrino. Janie retired after many years as owner operator of Wayne & Janie's Deer Processing Plant. She had also worked at Cato Department Store. She was an avid outdoors woman who loved to hunt, fish and be outside in her garden or caring for her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband Wayne in August of 2020 and an infant daughter, Judith Ann Hixon. Survivors include her Sons; Timmy and Tommy Hixon, a Step Daughter Carol (Chess) McCorkle; two sisters in law June (John) Hobbs and Janet Hobbs; her grandchildren Ralph (Alan) Cowart-Skipper of Statesboro, GA. Tabitha (Kenny) Hixon-Marko of Punta Gorda, Fl, and Nicole(Bruce) Cowart of Port Charlotte Florida. Skyler Hixon, Savannah Hixon, Chelsea McCorkle, Jon McCorkle, Brittany McCorkle, Kristin Hixon, Nicolas Hixon, many nieces and nephews also survive. She is also survived by her loving canine companion, "Dolly". The family wishes to express their appreciation to The Staff of The Gardens at Southern Manor for the wonderful, loving care Mrs. Hobbs received while there. Thomson - Mr. David “Alan” Johnson, Jr., 42, Thomson, Georgia entered into eternal rest on September 26, 2021 at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Alan was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 11, 1979, grew up in Thomson, Georgia, graduated from Thomson High School and has lived in Thomson his entire life. He was Baptist by faith, was a past member of Second Baptist Church, Thomson, Georgia for 26 years under the leadership of Rev. Ron Drawdy. He is a current member of Sharon Baptist Church. Alan was an avid coon hunter, loved coaching his son in travel baseball, and loved his wife, children and family dearly. Mr. Johnson’s survivors include his wife, Stephanie Johnson; his son, Carter Alan Johnson; his daughter, Callie Renae Johnson; his parents, David Alan Johnson, Sr. and Patricia McNeal Johnson; his sisters, Michelle Johnson Daniel (Jeff) and Heather Johnson Shelton; and his nieces and nephews, Ally Daniel, Mary Kate Daniel, Brantley Shelton and Carleigh Shelton. A Visitation Service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home. His Funeral Service, being officiated by Rev. Thomson - Mr. Billy Wayne Reese, 63, entered into rest on September 20, 2021. Billy Wayne was born in Augusta, Georgia on July 30, 1958, grew up in Stapleton, and settled in Thomson, where he lived most of his life and spent his final years. He loved his dogs, motorcycles, fast cars, woodworking and especially loved his family and friends. Mr. Reese is preceded in death by his father, John Reese. He is survived by his mother, Ruby Kitchens Reese; his loving wife, Rebecca Bales Reese; his sons, Kevin Reese, Jerry Meeks, Trey Franks (Wendy) and Jason Franks (Tiffany); his daughters, Sonia McClure (Larry), Misty Neal, and Roxanne Scrum (Jon); his brothers, John Reese (Pam), Charles Reese and Mike Reese; his sisters, Wanda Boatwright and Brenda Screws (Thomas) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
