Mitchell- Mr. Sammy Toulson age 82, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Catherine Chalker Toulson of Toulson Road Mitchell entered into rest Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services were held Friday, September 10, 2021 at Long Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Chad Crews, Geoff Mangus, and Chris Wasson officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Toulson a native and lifelong resident of Warren County, was the son of the late Erma Skelley Toulson and Marvin Rudolph Toulson. A farmer, Mr. Sammy owned and operated Toulson Dairy. An active lifelong member of Long Creek Baptist Church, he served as Deacon and RA leader. In addition, Mr. Toulson was a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and served in the National Guard. Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Toulson (George) Norris of Mitchell; brother, Ray (Hilda) Toulson of Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Margie Toulson and Linda Toulson; three grandchildren, Lauren Adams (Matt) Stanley, Josh Adams, and Jessica Norris; and a great grandson, Adam “Buckshot” Stanley with whom Mr. Sammy loved spending time. Mr. Toulson was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaci Madison Cooper. Loved by many as PAPA including Amber Pilgrim Judkins, Austin Cooper, and Nicollette Poole Deal. Pallbearers were Bobby Ray Toulson, Marvin Toulson, David Toulson, Bobby Jackson, Ryan Bland, Hunter Gray, Leon Evans, and Mike McDonald. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Adams, Jeff Toulson and the Long Creek Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Bobby Wilkerson

Mr. Bobby L. Wilkerson, 84, of Thomson, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord on September 13, 2021.  Bobby was born in Hancock County, raised in Warren County and moved to McDuffie County as a teenager. He is preceded in death by his parents Gussie Wilkerson and Josie Cooper Wilkerson; his son, Danny Wilkerson; his brothers W. G. Wilkerson and Jody Wilkerson; his sister, Oria Sumrall; and his grandson, Will Smith. Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane Cato Wilkerson of Thomson; his daughter, Kristy Smith (Chris) of Thomson; his brother, Ernest Wilkerson of Ellerslie; his sisters, Alice Spitz of Thomson and Margie Holton of Augusta; and his grandsons Thomas Wilkerson (Virginia) of Milledgeville and Taylor Smith of Thomson.   He was a member of the Old Frontier Church and a founding board member of The Old Frontier. Bobby ran McCommons Dairy, was a sewing machine mechanic at Camak Manufacturing, a mechanic at Kingsley Mill, Thomson Company, Garland and Health Tex. He enjoyed tinkering, carving, whittling, enjoyed working on cars and especially loved his Lord, his family and his friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Old Frontier, 1965 Old Milledgeville Road, Thomson, Georgia on Thursday afternoon, September 16, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Smith officiating and interment following.  The family will receive friends following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to The Old Frontier, P. O. Box 1714, Thomson, Georgia, 30824. Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated.  Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
