Margueritte Coffield Barber
Thomson - Margueritte Coffield Barber, 67, passed away at her residence, on Saturday August 15th, 2020.
She was born on December 27, 1952 to the late Prentiss Coffield Jr. and Margueritte McCrimmon. After many years of working at MCG as a secretary, she later became a waitress at Waffle House. Margueritte loved the mountains, her dogs and especially her grandkids.
Margueritte is survived by her daughter Nicole Barber; son Preston; brother Pete Coffield; sister Loretta Sanders(Dick); and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Atkins officiating.

Thomson - Mr. Tommy Chazelle, 23, of Thomson, GA entered into rest Sunday, August 30, 2020.
Survivors include his father, Mr. Donald Chazelle (Angie); mother, Jenny Chazelle; maternal grandmother, Patricia Graham (Fred); paternal grandfather, Annas Chazelle Jr., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held September 3, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church with Revs Tim Ferrell and Ron Drawdy officiating.

Thomson– Mr. James Neal Foster, 71, entered into rest August 31, 2020.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Priscilla Foster; daughters, April Norman (James) of Thomson, GA, Kim Foster of Warrenton, GA; brother, Mike Foster (Gail) of Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Tucker Foster, Rylee Foster and Colbey Norman and several nieces and nephews.

Peachtree City, GA - Mrs. Nina Padgett Gunnels, 84, entered her heavenly home Monday, September 1, 2020.
Nina grew up in the Mesena Community of Warren County, GA and was the daughter of the late Farrell Field Padgett and the late Emmie Bledsoe Padgett. She met Rolf Gunnels in church in Mesena, GA and they married in 1951. They lived in a variety of places spending the majority of their time in Warrenton, GA. She had a Master’s Degree in speech pathology and retired from the Columbia County Board of Education. Nina’s love for Jesus led her to go on many mission trips, to serve as Ladies’ Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church, Warrenton, and as an active member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Fayetteville. In addition to her parents, Nina was predeceased by a daughter, Kim Gunnels.
Survivors include her husband of almost 69 years, Rolf Gunnels; daughter, Judy Chandler and husband, Jim of Senoia, GA; brother Bonny Padgett and wife, Brenda of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, Kristie Enne and husband, Niko, of Newnan, GA and Josh Chandler of Atlanta, GA; and great grandchildren, Riley Enne, Nathan Enne, and Benjamin Enne.
A graveside service was held at 11 o’clock, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the mission organization that Nina so enjoyed joining on many mission trips: Kilpatrick Baptist Association, P.O. Box 895, Thomson, GA 30824.

Vernice “Neicy” Hintz, 73, entered into the presence of the Lord on September 1 2020.
She is survived by her children Michael (Lisa) Hintz of Aiken SC, Jerry (Season) Hintz of Columbia SC, Barbara Hintz of Harlem GA, and Patricia (Paul) Hobbs of Thomson GA; three siblings, Glenn Meadows (Tammie), Evans, GA, Gina Wright (Charlie), Jackson, SC, and Edie Casteel (Johnny), Thomson, GA. She is also survived by several grandchildren along with 8 great grandchildren.
Services were held September 4, 2020 in Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Hixon officiating.

Thomson - Mrs. Marie Hobbs Miller, 92, died September 4, 2020.
Graveside services were held September 9, 2020, in the Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Faye Burgamy officiating.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra (Nicky) Cloud, Gibson, and Amanda (Jack) Smallwood, Thomson; her six grandchildren, Jeannie Pentecost, Dearing, Mandy (Johnny) Brantley, Thomson, Cora Pentecost, Dearing, Tommy (Marie) Smallwood, Newnan, Camille Smallwood, and Derek (Tammy) Cloud, N. Augusta; and her five great-grandsons; Parker Caston, Tripp Brantley, Jackson Brantley, henry Brantley, and Oren Smallwood.

Marvin William “Buck” Parris, Jr., 77 of VFW Road, Thomson, entered into rest September 5, 2020 at Augusta University. He was the beloved husband of Shari Hobbs Parris.
Buck grew up in Thomson and was the son of the late Marvin W. Parris and the late Hazel Godowns Parris. Following graduation from Thomson High School, he graduated from Augusta Technical College with a degree in Electronics and attended Florida State University. While in Florida, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served as Sargent in Vietnam. In 1970, Buck joined Pollock Office Machine Company and retired as Senior Technician with 34 years of service. Buck and his family lived in Grovetown most of his life and were faithful members of Evans Church of Christ. After moving to Thomson four years ago, he joined Thomson Church of Christ. Buck enjoyed fishing, drawing, painting, tinkering with old cars and riding his motorcycle. He loved photography, trains and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Buck was predeceased by his grandson, Erik Richards.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Shari H. Parris; son, Shane Parris of Savannah, Ga; daughter, Amber P. Richards and husband, Adam; brother, Kenneth H. Parris and wife, Pat; sister, JoAnne P. Hanson, all of Thomson; grandchildren, Brent Beasley, Brighid Parris, Finnegan Parris, Colton Richards; great-grandson, Greyson Beasley; numerous nieces, nephews, the Girls of Eisenview Drive, and Ashley Ricks and Quinton Johnson whom he cherished.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 o’clock, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Parris’ residence. Ministers Matt Shelton and Jimmy Aaron will be officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Brent Beasley, Adam Richards, Quinton Johnson, Michael Parris, Andrew Parker, Rodney Price, Gene Morris and Chase Beggs.
Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing and masks are requested.
