Gibson, GA – Dr. Jennifer Waynette Landrum, 45, entered into rest October 13, 2018.

Dr. Landrum was a lifelong resident of Gibson, Georgia. After graduating from Glascock County High School, she attended Georgia College and State University and Valdosta State University earning a BSED Degree, Augusta State University earning a MA Degree in Administration/Supervision, and the University of Georgia earning a Doctorate Degree in Administration/Leadership. She also held a Georgia Real Estate Commission Brokers license and an inactive Georgia Auctioneer’s Commission license. She was an entrepreneur in Sales, Marketing, and Consulting. Dr. Landrum had extensive training in technology and was a multiple presenter at universities.  She had worked for multiple school systems in Georgia as an administrator for state, federal, and local programs in addition to teaching. Dr. Landrum was currently a Special Needs Educator with the McDuffie County Board of Education.  She was a devoted educator, inspiring her students and colleagues. A favorite philosophy “you cannot lead from behind” marked her career.  She was an outgoing person, loving life, her children, her parents, her family, friends, and would never back down from a challenge (in fact she sought challenges). She loved travelling, good food, and meeting new friends. Dr. Landrum was a  member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Grant Hadden; daughter, Macy Alexis Hadden; parents, Wayne and Carol Ann Landrum; and sisters, Rhonda Wren (Don), Melissa Landrum, and Denise L. Dallas (Buddy).

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Hadden, Rev. Billy Duggan and Rev. Dean Watson officiating. Interment followed at Magnolia Baptist Cemetery, Glascock County, GA.

The family received friends from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Louise Poss

Jun.8,1926 ~Sep.29,2018

Anchorage, AK- Mary Louise (Colvin) Poss, born on June 8, 1926 in Lincolnton, Georgia, to the late Merle Colvin and the late Thomas Edison Colvin, passed away at age 92 on September 29, 2018 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Louise is survived by her son, Louis Poss; daughter, Diane McDonald; and grandchildren, Michelle, Sean, John, Macki, Sam, Eddie, Mandy and Mary; great grandchildren, Michael, Mason and Maddix. Donations in Louise's name to Alzheimer's Association are welcome and appreciated. Services will be Private.

Michelle Dunn Williams

Dearing, GA – Ms. Michelle Dunn Williams, 48, entered into rest October 18, 2018.

Survivors include her daughter, Emily Greene; step-mother, Robbie Dunn; brother, Tony Dunn (Beth); sister, Angie Talkington; Aunt Linda Holliman and cousin, Jenny Thaxton.

Funeral services were held October 21, 2018 at Fort Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Tim Williams, Jim Martin, and Boyd Reeves officiating.

Marie Hall Smith

Thomson, GA- Marie Hall Smith entered into rest October 18, 2018.   

She is survived by her loving husband, George Alexander Smith, her son James Clifton Dansby (Melinda), her brother, Alvia Kyth "Butch" Hall (Faye), sister, Joanne Hall Crouch, Brother-in-law Wayne Taylor Smith (Peggy) several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held October 22nd at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Warrenton, GA – Mr. James Judson “J.J.” Gunn, 65, entered peacefully into rest October 19, 2018.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Debbie Arrington Gunn of Warrenton; daughters, Teresa Gunn Foster (Chad) of Thomson and Leigh Gunn of Warrenton; grandchildren, Nicole Jones Beggs (Chase), James Austin Jones, and Arrington Gunn Foster; great-grandchild, Bennett Blanchard Beggs; sister, Jimmie Gunn Stewart (Jimmy); brother, John Edward Gunn; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held October 22, 2018 at Johnson United Methodist Church with Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating.

Connie Huffman Holsonbake, 72,  entered into rest October 14, 2018.

A Celebration of Life was held October 18, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverend Matthew Moore officiating.

Survivors include her two sons, Scott Holsonbake (Jennifer Watkins) and Chris Holsonbake (Jacqueline); one brother, Stanley Huffman (Brenda); one sister, Dot Holden; four grandchildren, Payton, Hailey, Ansley and Brantley.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Huffman, Harvey Huffman, James Huffman and Johnnie Huffman; two sisters, Naomi Dunn and Fannie Mae Gay.

Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Lanser (Ruby) and Paul Strang (Alison); one daughter, Kimberly Logue (Chris) and step-daughter Eva Lowry (Dick); one sister, Lee Debruin (Larry); 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
