Ernestine Sullivan

Ernestine “Ernie” Sullivan died at her home in Florence, CO, on September 25, 2018. She was 89. Ernie was born into the Harrison family of Augusta, GA, on January 2, 1929. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Claude “Sully” Sullivan, her parents, Frank and Ruby, her sister, Earlene, and her brother, Otis. As an Air Force wife for 29 years and a pastor’s wife for over 10 years, Ernie made a wonderful, loving home for her family, wherever home happened to be. She was passionate about everything she did: cooking, RV’ing, gardening, sewing, photography, genealogy, United Methodist Women, caring for her family, her church family and anyone who needed her. Together, Ernie and Sully decided to donate their bodies to the Colorado State Anatomical Board for medical research. Everyone who knew Ernie agrees that she was the most loving, giving person they ever knew. Ernie is survived by 4 daughters, Susan Weinberg (Walter), Claudia Hoover (Chuck), Laura Lopata (Mike) Debbie Whitehead, (Charlie), 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial was held on September 29, at Florence United Methodist Church, Florence, CO. To honor Ernie’s caregivers, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Navajo Counselor Chapter, PO Box 913, Counselor, NM 87018, (include: “Scholarship Fund” on memo line), or Fremont Regional Hospice, 1439 Main Street, Canon City, CO 81212.

Cynthia Knight Cason

Thomson, GA – Mrs. Cynthia Knight  “Cindy” Cason, 62, entered into rest September 23, 2018.

Survivors include her son, Patrick Ivie (Tricia); daughter, Lokey Rabun Mauck both of Thomson; and brother, R. L. “Pete” Knight, Jr. of England; and grandchildren, Katelyn Phillips, Knight Ivie, Billy Ivie, Dani Ivie, Landon Mauck, and Candler Story.

Funeral services were held September 29, 2018 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bowers and Steve Candler officiating.

Thomson, GA – Mr. Jeffery Clark “Jeff” Cason, 58, entered into rest September 23, 2018.

Survivors include his son, Brandon Cason; mother, Ruby Harbin of Evans, GA; brother, Marc Cason of Grovetown, GA; sister, Kay Harden of Evans, GA; and grandchildren, Conner and Skyler Cason.

Warrenton, GA – Mr. Lance Warren Hendrix, 64, entered into rest September 24, 2018.

Survivors include beloved wife, Teresa Hendrix of Warrenton, Georgia; son, Jeremy Saladino; daughter, Jennifer Saladino; father, Harold Hendrix all of Washington State; and brothers, Lonnie Hendrix of Washington and Robert Hendrix of Ohio.

Evans, GA – Mr. Bill Presnell, 73, formally of Thomson, GA, entered into rest September 24, 2018.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mabel Hopkins Presnell; son, Damon Presnell of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Shannon Presnell of Roanoke, VA; step-daughters, Carolyn Giddens of Martinez, GA and Cindy Scoggins of Haddonfield, N.J.; step-grandson Jonathan Reames of Dallas, TX; and step-granddaughter LouraAnn Mode of Tampa, FL.

A graveside service was held September 27, 2018 in the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Appling, GA with Pastor Floyd Harrison officiating.

Dearing, GA – Mr. James Edward Broxton, 78, entered into rest September 26, 2018.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Janice Morgan Broxton; son, Tracy Broxton; daughter, Jamie Broxton; and brother, Louie Broxton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Thomson, GA – Mrs. Barbara Anne Pearson, 69, entered into rest September 26, 2018.  

A celebration of life was held in Mount Tabor Baptist Church on September 29, 2018  with the Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Pearson, Thomson; daughter, Alicia Hohlwein, Thomson; son, Michael Key (Jan), Thomson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn McNair (Jimmy), Vidalia; three brothers, Larry Sinns, Gibson, Ray Hale (Janice), Dearing, and Randy Hale (Melissa), Texas.

Thomson, GA– Mr. Robert Edward Neal, 88, entered into rest September 27, 2018.  

A graveside service was held in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens on September 30, 2018 with the Rev. Charles Reese officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Neal, Thomson; son Keith Neal (Debbie), Thomson; two grandchildren, Jason Neal, Thomson and Holly Neal Campbell (Bruce), Martinez.

There will be no visitation.

Mableton, GA - Mr. Charlie Lee Taylor, 73 formally of Thomson, Georgia entered into rest September 23, 2018.  

He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Valerie (Johnny) Gilbert of Lithonia, Georgia & Temiko (Christopher) Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia, Shannon (Adrian) Sample of Mansfield, Texas & Carmelita (Frankie) Clark of Jacksonville, Florida & Paris B. Taylor of Austell, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Katesha Chaney, Dereck Gilbert, Victor (Andrea) Chaney, Jr. Keanu Hall, Rashad Clark, Aariyana Clark, Myles Sample, Mason Taylor, Nova Kelly, Karter Taylor; four great grandchildren, Mateo Chaney, Jayden Chaney,  Jaycee Chaney & Sean Carter; one sister, Patricia Evon Taylor of Thomson, Georgia;  two brothers, Johnny Evans Taylor, Sr; of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  and Freddie (Betty) Taylor , Sr; of Thomson, Georgia; three aunts, Georgia Mae Wilson, Hadale Wilson and Daisy Wilson and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Thomson, GA - Billy A. Lowe, 78, passed away on September, 27, 2018.

Left to cherish his memories are three sons, Johnny Lowe, Allen Lowe (Tricia), and Keith Lowe (Lori) and their mother Mary Jo Lowe McNeely; one sister, Earline Webb; one brother, Ricky Lowe (Angela); Grandchildren, Brian Lowe (Mallory), Katie Thompson (Tanner), Brandon Lowe (Savannah), Jason Milligan, Madyson Lowe, Kaylee Lowe; Great-Grandchildren, Ryan Lowe and Hazel Lowe; and  numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held October 1, 2018, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Don Prosser officiating. Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Harlem, GA – Mitchell Eugene Welch, Sr., 56, went to home to be with his Lord and Savior September 27, 2018.

Funeral services were held September 30, 2018 at Dearing Full Gospel Church with the Revs. Frankie Richardson and Polly Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Walker Family Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Welch; two sons, Mitchell Eugene Welch, Jr. and Jimmy Langham; one daughter, Jessica Junkins; his brother, Derrell Welch (Cheryl); his sister, Tracy Welch; grandchildren, Cammie and Chase Langham and three grandsons.; His aunt, Margie Crook; Nephew, Jason Welch (Stephanie);
