Graveside funeral services were held May 22, 2019 at the Jewell Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Williams officiating.

Survivors include a sister, Lydia Adkins (Perry) Grant of Crawfordville and several nieces and nephews

Warrenton, GA - Mr. Quontavious Battle  departed his life May 12, 2019.

 He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Eddie L. Grissom of Warner Robins, GA, grandparents Phyllis Battle and Robert Neal both of Warrenton, GA, Odessa Reese of Montgomery, AL and Eddie Grissom Jr. (Ivette) of Atlanta, GA. Three brothers; Zachary Bell (Sebatha), Trenten Scott, both of Warrenton, GA and Veshawn Grissom of Warner Robin, GA. Two sisters Carlisha Battle (Demarcus) Shawteria Grissom both of Warrenton, GA one aunt, Phaedra Richardson (James) of Macon, GA. Two uncles, Casey Neal, and Jordan Battle both of Warrenton, GA. A host of great aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Thomson, GA - Marion "Tootie” McNair, Sr. Age 57 passed May 15,2019.

Cornelia Milford

Mrs. Cornelia Jane Linnenkohl Milford, age 92, formerly of Thomson, GA, passed away, Sunday, May 19, 2019, at her current residence in Rome, GA.

Mrs. Milford was born on October 11, 1926, in Jefferson County, Georgia, to sharecropper parents James (Jim) and Lucy Linnenkohl. She was the youngest girl with seven siblings and was preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings – Edna Linnenkohl, Eugenia Rogers, Ada Riley, William Linnenkohl, Lois Whaley, and Donald Linnenkohl; brother Ludwig Linnenkohl and wife Margie survive her. Mrs. Milford is also survived by her husband of 72 years Albert Miller Milford, and their children Dr. Richard Milford and his wife Nancy, Athens; Mrs. Beverly Milford Harris and husband Bob, Rome; Mr. David Milford and wife Karen, Carrollton; special niece Miss Lucianne Linnenkohl, Dearing; like-a-daughter Wynelle Ruehle, Thomson; grandchildren Brooke Harris Caesar and husband Robbie, Cumming; Brian Harris, Rome; Melissa Manders Dukes and husband Albert, Greenwood, SC; and great-grandchildren Mason and Harper Caesar, Cumming.

Cornelia attended school in Dearing, Georgia, where she was valedictorian of her senior class. Graduating at the peak of WWII, Cornelia went to work for Thomson Company, maker of uniforms for GI’s, and helped support the Linnenkohl family.

Following the war, Cornelia married Miller Milford on September 1, 1946. She continued working at Thomson Company until they began a family in 1949.

Cornelia became a homemaker until returning to work when their children began college.  She served for twelve years as secretary at First Baptist Church of Thomson where she and Miller were pillars of the church and the community. They were parents to all the friends of their children, and their home was always a gathering place for friends and family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Bob Lemley and staff, Thomson, and Dr. George Hotz, Rome, for their extraordinary support and encouragement. Special thanks is also extended to the staff of Renaissance Marquis and Heyman Hospice for their gentle, loving care.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Thomson, Georgia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomson First Baptist Church (PO Box 1205, Thomson, GA 30824) Rome First Baptist (PO Box 1189, Rome, GA 30161), or Heyman Hospice (420 East 2nd Street, Rome, GA 30161).

Mary Ann Moore Williams

Harlem, GA - Mary Ann Moore Williams, age 82, entered into rest May 16, 2019.

She is survived by: a loving daughter, Gloria (Steven) Watson of Queens, NY; four sons, Leroy, Jr. (Janice) Williams, Tracy (Traci) Williams, all of Augusta, GA, Ulysses (Sharon) Williams and Terry Levon Williams, all of Harlem, GA; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Harley of Brooklyn, NY, Carrie Moore of Hephzibah, GA, Betty Butler of Martinez, GA and Runette (Willie) Barnes of Harlem, GA; one brother, Robert (Leslie) Moore of Seattle, WA; five sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Services were held May 21, 2019 at Canaan of Galilee Baptist Church, Appling, GA. with Rev Dr. Byron Knapper, Pastor Rev. William Mack, Presider Rev. Robert Felton, Eulogist.

Chrissy Phillips Zimmerman

Boneville, GA – Mrs. Christine “Chrissy” Phillips Zimmerman, 54, entered into rest May 18,  2019.

Survivors include her husband, David Zimmerman; sons, Daniel Morris, Dusty Morris, David James Zimmerman, D.J. Zimmerman (Deidra), and Dustin Zimmerman; daughters, Bridget Zimmerman and Krystal Morris; brother, Jeff Phillips; sister Ree Walker; and grandchildren, Karsen Morris and Kendall Ann Morris.

Funeral services were held May 21, 2019 at Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Dunaway and Phillip Bertsch officiating.
