Survivors include a Daughter and three Sons, Jeanie Evans Joesbury, Greensboro, Georgia, Jack Floyd Evans (Faith), Lake Jacksonville, Texas, Wyendell Steve Evans (Nancy), Friendswood, Texas, and Frank Lee Evans (Liz), Jacksonville, Florida; Grandchildren, Jack Watson Joesbury (Stephanie), Thomson, Georgia, Leslie Joesbury Harper, Greensboro, Georgia, and David Watson Joesbury, Jr., Asheville, North Carolina, Jeffrey Evans, League City, Texas, Michael Evans, Houston, Texas, Amanda Evans Grantham, Friendswood, Texas, Kevin Mittleman,  (Jessica), Ellicott, Maryland;  Great Grandchildren, Harrison Clyde Harper, Eatonton, Georgia, Jack Watson Joesbury, Jr, and Katherine Lee Joesbury, Thomson, Georgia,  Haley Evans, League City, Texas,  Wyatt Evans, Friendswood, Texas, Annabelle Evans, Dallas, Texas, Jackson Grantham, Callie Grantham, Hannah Grantham of Friendswood, Texas, Victoria Evans and Avery Evans, of League City, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

A memorial service was held March 5, 2019 at Thomson First United Methodist Church, Thomson, Georgia, with Reverend Ronny Brannen officiating. There will also be a Memorial Service held at Friendswood United Methodist Church, Friendswood, Texas, at a later date to be announced.

Mary Johnson Stockton-Hill

Mesna, GA - Mary Johnson Stockton-Hill departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest February 23, 2019.

Those left to cherish her memories: two grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Ivey of Mesena, GA and Jonathan (Ashley) Ivey of Augusta GA; four great-grandchildren, Sariya Ivey, Izaiah Ivey, Shalynn Ivey and Jionni Ivey, all of Augusta, GA; three step-children, Darlene Hill of Greensboro, GA, Robert Lee Hill and Willie Clarence; a loving and devoted nephew, Robert (Phan Thi ) Scott, of Savannah, GA; a devoted cousin, Patricia Brown of Decatur, GA; two special friends, Sandra Landers and Clara Kendrick, both of Mesena, GA; a host of nieces, additional nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Services were held March 2, 2019 at Payne’s Baptist Church, Mesena, GA with the

Rev. Milton Neal, Pastor, Presider Rev. Andrew Grant, Eulogist.

Harry Lynn “Bud” Kitchens

Gibson, GA - Mr. Harry Lynn “Bud” Kitchens,79, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Doctors Hospital.

Mr. Kitchens was a lifelong resident of Glascock County, GA. He was a farmer and retired as an electrician with National Homes and JEBCO. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church.  Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Lizzie Belle Kitchens, his brothers, James Kitchens, George Kitchens, Weldon Kitchens, Milo Kitchens, and a sister, Frances Kitchens. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mrs. Alice Kitchens, his children, Harry Lynn Kitchens Jr., Loretta (Terry) Trippany; his brother, Julian Kitchens, sisters, Julia Massey, Annette Key, Sadie Kitchens, and Lollie Dell Todd; grandchildren, Deric Bales, Michael Mobley; and great grandchildren, Sophie Bales and Deklan Bales.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Zoar United Methodist Church with Rev. Faye Burgamy officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.  

The family  received friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Hephzibah, GA - Rhonda Louise Marshall, age 64, a native of Thomson, GA, entered into eternal rest February 28, 2019.

Those who survive her include: a loving and devoted mother, Zelmer Armstrong Marshall of Hephzibah, GA; one brother, Ronald (Diane) Marshall of Thomson, GA; one sister, Cathy (Leonard) Hart of Hephzibah, GA; four aunts, Estella Collins of Hephzibah, GA; Dorothy (Tyrone) Palmer of Chicago, IL, Annie (John Willie) Griffin and Elaine (Bobby) Moss, all of Thomson, GA; and additional uncle and aunt, Sammie (Mattie) Marshall of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Services were held March 6, 2019 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia  with Rev. Clarence Moore, Pastor, Eulogist Rev. Oscar Brown, Presider.

Tommy Story, Sr.

Thomson, GA - Tommy Story, Sr., 77, entered into rest February 27, 2019.

Survivors include his wife, Delsie Story, his children, Tommy Story Jr., and Cindy Story. His brothers, Freddy (Gwen) Story, Davey (Marie) Story, Randy (Patty) Story, sister, Debra Story, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 2, 2019 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Collins officiating.

Eloise  Rodgers Waterhouse

Birmingham, AL - Mamie Eloise Rodgers Waterhouse Eloise passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.

She leaves behind her three children, Woody, Deborah, and Lisa, and their spouses, her brother, Billy Rodgers, owner of Hillcrest Farms in Dearing, and her sister, Joyce Luckey ,in Augusta.

Graveside services were held March 1, 2019 in the Dearing United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
