Alberta Marie Callahan
Appling, Georgia – Mrs. Alberta Marie Callahan, 90, entered into rest July 1, 2020.
Mrs. Callahan, a native of Indiana, but long-time resident of McDuffie County, was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Clark Gillen. She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and provided a haven to stray animals. Mrs. Callahan was predeceased by her husband, Arna Callahan; son, James Wickizer; and daughter, Diane Arrington.
Survivors include sons, David Wickizer of Kennesaw, GA and Gary Wickizer (Laurie) of South Bend, IN; daughter, Karla Blair (Scott) of Grovetown, GA; step-children, Keith Callahan, Karen Callahan Ingle, Katherine Orszulak (Dennis), Kim Callahan, Kenneth Callahan (Melody), and Kary Callahan (Carolyn); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
No service is planned at this time.

Violet May Banks
Thomson, GA- Violet May Banks, 89, passed away at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia on Sunday July 5th, 2020.
Violet was a native of Ripon, WI but resided the last 30 plus years in Thomson, GA. She enjoyed her garden, crossword puzzles and the Atlanta Braves.
She was born on August 19, 1930 to Alvin and Adeline Cluppert. She was preceded in death by her husband William Banks (1996), her parents, her brothers Marvin and Roger Cluppert, and son-in-law John Talcott.
Violet is survived by her sister Joyce (Cluppert) Cotter and brother-in-law Jack Banks, both of Ripon, WI; daughter Vilissa (Banks) Talcott, Thomson, GA; sons David (Patricia), Xenia, OH; Mark (June), Thomson, GA; James (Darlene), Warrenton, GA; Paul (Lori), Munford, TN; grandchildren Mathew Cox ; Scott (Carrie); Steve (Landra); Patrick (Liz); Sherry Howard (Jeremy); Kristina and Alina Banks; and great grandchildren Thomas, Amber, Jordon and Brook.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no viewing and services will be limited to immediate family. Beggs Funeral Home in Thomson is handling the arrangements. Interment will be in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
She was a wonderful caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved and will be missed by all. Instead of flowers please make donations in memory of Violet to your local animal shelter.

Thomson, GA – Mr. James Henry Gentry, age 99, passed July 3, 2020.

Ronald G. Goldman
Thomson, Georgia – Mr. Ronald G. Goldman, 68, entered into rest June 30, 2020.
Mr. Goldman, longtime resident of Thomson, GA, was the son of the late Freddie Goldman and the late Dorothy Hinton Usry. He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps and retired from Ft. Gordon civil service. Mr. Goldman was known as “Mr. Fix-It” to his family and was a jokester. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Goldman was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Vickie Crookham.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy Thornton Goldman; son, Nick Goldman; daughters, Jennifer Goldman and Elizabeth Smith (Doug); step-mother, Shirley Goldman; mother-in-law, Lois Thornton; brothers, Bobby Goldman (Cindy), David Usry (Jeanine), and Michael Goldman; sister, Donna Usry; and grandson, Maddux Smith.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Dunaway officiating.

Mr. Curtis J. Grant age 69 of Atlanta, GA formerly of Mesena the son of the late Cornelia Grant Cartledge passed away in Atlanta.

William Eugene Wiggins
William Eugene Wiggins, 39, entered into rest June 21, 2020 at University Hospital.
William was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia, and lived most of his life in Appling and Warrenton area, he was a construction worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Warrenton.
He is survived by his son Tyson Cage Wiggins, sisters Crystal Holley, Teresa Wiggins, brother Shannon Wiggins, a niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father William Emmitt Wiggins, mother Doris Faye Wiggins and his grandmother who raised him Emma Wiggins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
