Appling, GA - Mr. Alton Andrews, 86, entered into rest December 11, 2018.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather Fernandez (Ivan) and Holly Andrews;  grandson, Aaron Andrews; brothers Clenton Andrews, Richard Andrews, Arlon Andrews, and David Andrews; and sisters, Naomi Slate and Helen Edwards (Russ).

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Shirley Suarez officiating.

Thomson, GA - Vickie  Delores Flournoy was called to rest on December 11, 2018.

She is survived by her two children, LaShonda Flournoy and DiMarco Drake both of Thomson, Georgia; three grandchildren Jayla Flournoy, Jamari Mills, and JaNiah Drake all of Thomson, Georgia; her mother, JoEvelyn Flournoy of Thomson, Georgia; two sisters, Alesia Grant and Tamika Flournoy both of  Thomson, Georgia; brother, Paul Flournoy of Martinez, Georgia and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends.

The memorial service was held  December 15, 2018 at  the Lithonia Baptist Church in Camak, Georgia.

Hubert D. Haire, Jr.

Thomson, GA – Hubert D. Haire, Jr.,  83, entered into rest December 11, 2018 in Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.

A funeral service was held in Curtis Funeral Home Chapel on December 13, 2018 with the Rev. Joe Walden officiating.

He is survived by his four children, Julie Chance (Tommy), Thomson, Linda Griswell (Bobby), Kathy Sapp (David), both of Evans, and Dee Haire (Rhonda), Appling; ten grandchildren, Chris Jones, Kiley Chance, Brandon Chance, Jason Sapp, Chase Sapp, JDee Haire, Layne Haire, River Haire, Jonathan Adams and Lauren Adams; seven great-grandchildren, Haley Jones, Chase Chance, Bailey Chance, Layla Johnson, Brantlee Jones, Gage Jones, and Paisley Palomar; five sisters, Joyce Newsome, Brenda Thomas, both of Thomson, Karen Walden and Vickie Arrington, both of Mathews and Reba Baggett, Greenville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Jessie Lee Ivey

Thomson, GA- Jessie Lee “Speedy” Ivey, age 81 of Thomson entered into rest on December 16, 2018.

Leon May

Thomson, GA – Mr. Bobby Leon May, 84, of May Road, entered into rest December 13, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. May was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and the son of the late Robert Truman May and the late Julia Emma Heath May. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and he was retired from W. S. Badcock Corporation as a Security Guard. Mr. May enjoyed farming and loved his cabin on the pond. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. May was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley G. May; sons, Larry May and Daryl May; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Rae Story.

Survivors include his daughters, Julianne May Martin (Jim) and Susan May; son, Johnny May; nine granddaughters, two grandsons and thirteen great grandchildren; and sisters, Inez Rabun and Miriam Usry (J.H.).

Funeral services were held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Monday, December 17, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Ferrell and Rev. Jim Martin officiating.  Interment followed in the May Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Mr. May’s caregivers, Mamie Thomas and Don Evans, as well as Kindred Hospice and his favorite nurse, Leah Anderson.

Services were held December 16, 2018 at Mt. Aldred C.M.E. Church, Warrenton, GA with Rev. Dr. Paul Gardner, Jr. Pastor, Presider Pastor George Glenn, Eulogist.
