Gwendolyn Ann Hall Adkins

 Warrenton, GA– Mrs. Gwendolyn Ann Adkins, 69, entered into rest July 29, 2020.

Mrs. Adkins was born in Washington, GA, the daughter of the late William Joel Hall and the late Carolyn Thomas Hall.  She was the owner/operator of Adkins Tax Service.  Mrs. Adkins enjoyed all types of crafts, including crochet and jewelry making, and loved flea marketing.  She was a member of Mesena United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adkins was predeceased by her sister Kathy Hall Smith.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Mike Adkins; sons, Gabriel Adkins (Sara) and Michael Adkins (Chrissy); grandchildren, Joel Adkins, Courtney Stefanik (Andrew), Timothy Adkins, Matthew Adkins, Brian Adkins, and Justin Adkins; brother, Joey Hall (Debbie); and sister, Penny Hall (Randi Miller).

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Heartland Hospice for the great care provided during Mrs. Adkins’ illness.

Gibson, GA - Mr. David Hugh Bales, age 82, died July 30, 2020.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday August 7, 2020 in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Kitchens Bales, sons, John Bales of Gibson, David Bales, Jr., of AL., daughter, Angela Eugenia Johnson of Augusta, sister, Ann B. Bradford, of Gibson, 5 grandchildren, John Bales, Jr., David T. Bales, Brand Williford, Matthew Bales & Dakota Perry, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Dearing, GA - Joyce White "Mama Joyce" Beasley, 90, went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2020.

Thomson, GA – Mr. Bruce Wayne Finuf, 62, entered into rest August 1, 2020.

Mr. Finuf was born in Emporia, KS and graduated from Emporia High School.  In 1982, he married Barbara Ann Helberg and worked for Mobile phone in Emporia.  In 1983, they moved to Augusta, GA to join his family and work in the family business, Finuf Sign Co. Inc.   He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence W. Finuf; uncles, Dr. Lester A. Finuf, Orville D. Mercer, Donald L. Mercer, Tom Wilson; and nephew, Jack Alexander Reed.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Finuf; daughter, Sharon Finuf; mother, Barbara Jane Mercer Finuf; brother, Mark Alan Finuf; sister, Anita “Chris” Finuf-Reed; nieces, Lauren Finuf Beasley (children, Lawson & Walker); Lindsey Finuf; Marina Reed; nephews, Christian Morris (Nicole) and daughter Serafina; and Ben Reed (Lanie); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.  

Due to the current national health concern, facial coverings and social distancing are requested.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  The family would appreciate all phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.

Dearing, GA - Mr. Bobby H. McGahee, 90, entered into rest at his residence on Sunday, August 2, 2020.

A private graveside service will be held in the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev.  Jim Miller officiating.

Mr. McGahee was a native and lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was retired from the Savannah River Site after 30 years of service. He was the retired owner of Thomson Super Curb. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Patsy Reese. He is survived by his 4 daughters, Rita (Miguel) Faure, Evans, Gloria Machalk, Louisville, Kathy (David) Gunnels, Tx., and Tonya (Robert) Gunby, Stapleton; his 9 grandchildren, Matthew Holley, Tammie Graham, Travis Holley, Eric Usry, Chris Gunnels, Sarah Gunnels Wong, Elizabeth Gunnels Salhi, Cody Gunby, and Kimberly Gunby; and his 9 great-grandchildren.
