The woman sought in connection with shooting her boyfriend in the face early Oct. 4 turned herself in to law enforcement and has been charged with aggravated assault.

 Jaquella Hill, 27, of the 100 block of Cherokee St., in Thomson, turned herself in to the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 6 p.m, Oct. 4 for the shooting of Keontavious Deontra Brown, 20, of the 100 block of Cherokee Street.  She has been sought by the Sheriff’s Office as a person of interest in the shooting of Brown, her boyfriend.

According to Sheriff’s Office Major Ronnie Williamson, at 1:18 a.m., Friday, the sheriff’s office was called to University Hospital McDuffie about a man there with a gunshot wound. He said deputies arrived to find Brown with a gunshot wound to his face.

“Information developed during this investigation leads us to believe the shooting resulted from a domestic incident, which occurred in the 100 block of Cherokee Street,” Williamson said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff’s office in the ongoing shooting investigation.

In addition to aggravated assault, Hill was also charged with a probation violation.  She remains in the McDuffie County Jail and her bond has been set at $5,000.

Brown is expected to survive his injuries, Williams son said.
