Warrenton Hometown Christmas, an annual evening event, featured something for almost everyone.

From a parade and tree lighting to musicians performing and businesses extending hours, it was easy to get in the holiday spirit and also practice pandemic caution.

Santa visited with youngsters and children could make ornaments.

“This is great,” said Mark Meadows, of Evans. “It’s a chance to enjoy the season in a small-town atmosphere. There are a lot of things to do and folks are really friendly.”

Jeffrey Fowler, tourism director for Warren County, said the events have been well received over the years.

“This year, our parade was a little shorter and that can most likely be blamed on the pandemic,” he said. “Still there is a lot to see and do.”

Andy Valdez, of Grovetown, and his family visited the event for the first time. He said he was there to enjoy the night and check out the American Legion activities.
