McDuffie County is having their annual Trash Amnesty Day this upcoming Saturday.

Trash Amnesty Day will be on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents in McDuffie County can take their trash to Tankersley Road. Residents can take their trash waste and junk to the transfer station and it is free of charge.

Trash Amnesty Day has been around in McDuffie County for many years, and it helps keep the county clean. Residents can’t take certain items to the landfill.

Those items include old junk cars, waste oil, tires, old mobile homes, antifreeze, and other items that are prohibited will not be accepted. Citizens trash must also be covered and secured while it is being transported, so that nothing falls off onto the ground.

County Commissioners encourage citizens of McDuffie County to not contribute to the trash on the highway. If anyone is traveling and arrives at the transfer station with loose trash, they could be fined $100.
