One person was shot and two others slightly injured Friday night at a large homecoming party in Warren County. The wounded man, in his 20s, was shot in the groin and was treated and released from the hospital.
“We’re thinking there were three to four shots fired,” said Chief Deputy Jammie Smith, of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
He said the shooting happened about midnight at a home in the 100 block of Silverside Drive.
“One actually got shot, three went to the ER,” said Smith.
One female had her hand cut when a bottle broke and a male sustained injuries when he was hit in the face by something, possibly debris flying as a result of a shot being fired according to Smith.
Warren County EMS transported the gunshot victim to the hospital.
“He was treated and released that night,” Smith said.
The two other injured people were taken to University McDuffie Hospital in personal vehicles. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call the GBI at 706-595-2575 or the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at 706-465-3340.
“They can call in anonymously,” said Smith.
