Tuesday afternoon the body of a missing Warren County man was found in a pond off Rabun Road, near Parrish Road.

Louis Johnson, 65, of a Parrish Road address, had been missing since about noon Saturday. Searchers were aware that Johnson had several medical illnesses that required medication and that he had left all medications at his home. He was also known to have seizures, difficulty walking, and at times could become confused.

Just before noon on Tuesday, several public safety agencies joined with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office to search the woods near Johnson’s home.

Johnson’s body was found in a pond about 3 p.m. and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called at 3:15 p.m. to assist with the death investigation.

Johnson’s body has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.

The following law enforcement and public safety agencies assisted with the search and recovery of Johnson: Glascock County Sheriff’s Office, Glascock County Fire Department, Warren County Fire Department, McDuffie County Fire Department, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia State Patrol Aviation Division, and Georgia Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division.
