Four and a half years after the deaths of Kenyetta “Kamp” Germany and Cheri Stone, the victims’ families received a measure of justice when a McDuffie County Superior Court jury convicted Chet Kent of murdering the couple between March 12 and March 13, 2018.

As a result of the malice and felony murder convictions, Judge Thomas Hammond sentenced Kent to two consecutive life sentences without parole. He levied another 20 years in consecutive sentences on aggravated assault and firearms charges. Of the 14 indictments Kent was tried for, he was convicted of all except three related to armed robbery.
