A Gibson man has been accused of inappropriately touching two juvenile females and has been arrested for child molestation.
The Glascock County Sheriff’s Office arrested Phillip Lee McTaggart, 41, of the 1800 block of Bastonville Road on Aug. 7 and charged him with child molestation of two girls under the age of 16.
According to Sheriff Jeremy Kelley, his office received a complaint of McTaggart inappropriately touching a person under the age of 16 on July 26. During the investigation, Kelley said he received a second accusation from another girl. He said McTaggart is accused of sexually touching of the two girls under the age 16 and has been charged with one count of child molestation for each of the two victims.
The sheriff said the touching incidents occurred in Glascock County and occurred approximately four years ago for one victim and approximately two years ago for the other.
“The time frame in receiving a child molestation complaint involving children is not unusual,” Kelley said. “They were under 16 when it occurred and they are still under 16,” he said.
McTaggart was transported to the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office and is awaiting a bond hearing.
