A Martinez man driving more than 80 miles per hour inside Warren County was found to be allegedly trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine.

A Warren County deputy stopped a 2016 Nissan Sentra  Jan. 25 for traveling  87 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 20 at approximately 11 p.m.  When the deputy approached the vehicle driven by Zanuck Lorenzo Berry, the odor of marijuana emitted from within, said Chief Deputy Sammy Purvis.

The smell gave the officer a cause to search the car.  Purvis said approximately one and one half pound of methamphetamine, with a street value of approximately $50,000, and approximately one ounce of cocaine, valued at approximately $1,200, were found inside the spare tire in the trunk.

Purvis said Berry, 37, of the 4400 block of Columbia Road in Martinez, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine and speeding. He was transported to the McDuffie County Jail and his bond was set at $75,000.
