Elected officials across McDuffie County are urging area residents to follow CDC recommendations to not gather in groups of 10 or more.
McDuffie County Manager David Crawley, Friday morning, said the Thomson mayor, Dearing mayor, and county commission chairman are all in agreement that churches should find alternative means of worship rather than gathering for group worship.
“We’re recommending no more than 10 people gather together,” Crawley said. “That’s everybody’s recommendation.”
According to Centers for Disease Control guidelines for how community and faith-based organizations should operate, “For organizations that serve high-risk populations, cancel gatherings of more than 10 people.”
More information and guidelines related to gatherings and social distancing can be found on the CDC website.
