March 26 — According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, McDuffie County now has one confirmed case of COVID-19. No further specifics about the local case are available at this time.
The Georgia Department of Public Health today, at 7 p.m., announced that there are now 1,642 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, with 507 patients hospitalized, and there have now been 56 deaths as a result.
No confirmed cases are reported in Warren or Glascock counties. The nearby counties with confirmed cases are Richmond (11), Columbia (10), Lincoln (3) and Wilkes (1). According to the department of public health, those statistics are based on “patient county of residence when known.”
To date, 7,302 individuals in Georgia have been tested by commercial labs and 1,646 by the Georgia Department of Public Health.
