C & H Paving of Thomson has been selected to resurface and pave a little more than nine miles of roads in McDuffie County and more than two miles in the City of Thomson by the year’s end.
The County Commission received bids from three area contractors, with C&H Paving offering the lowest responsible bid at $1,420.510.69. The county commission approved the bid July 3 and approved up to $1.114 million to resurface 9.11 miles of county roads. The Thomson City Council is expected to approved a $185,061 bid from C&H Paving on July 11 to pave 2.35 miles of city streets.
The funding would be provided through the allocation the city and county received from the LMIG (Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant from GDOT) and from the TSPLOST.
The McDuffie County Commission approved the paving of:
•Wisham Road, beginning at Margrets Road and ending at SR 223 (White Oak Road);
•Fish Hatchery Road, beginning at Ellington Airline and ending at the Gate;
•Mitchner Road, beginning at Hobbs Road and ending at Mitchner Road Ext.;
•Mitchner Road Ext., beginning and ending at the Dead End;
•Carl Drive, beginning at the Dead end and ending at Moose Club;
•Karen Lane, beginning at the Dead end and ending at Moose Club
•Head Stall Lane, beginning at Dearing Acres and ending at Dearing Acres;
•Bethany Road, beginning at Head Stall Lane and ending at the Dead End,
•Mynatt Road, beginning at SR 223 (White Oak Road) and ending at Moose Club Road;
•White Oak Estates Circle, beginning at Moose Club Road and ending at Moose Club Road;
•White Oak, beginning at White Oak and ending at White Oak;
•Estates Drive, beginning at Estates Circle and ending at Estates Circle;
•Country Club Road, beginning at Wire Road and ending at the Dead end; and
•Industrial Drive, beginning at SR 12 and ending at the Pavement Joint.
If the City Council approves the bid, the sections of roads to be paved or resurfaced are:
•Lincoln Circle, beginning at Lincoln Drive and ending at Lincoln Drive;
•Bethany Drive, beginning at Rose and ending at North Lee.
•Manassas, beginning at Beauregard and ending at Murray.
•Lilac, beginning at Apollo and ending at Edgar.
•Johnson, beginning at Ansley and ending at Hwy, 278; and
•Georgia Ave., beginning at Hwy. 17 and ending at Black Street.
