With Thanksgiving coming and going, the holiday events are fast approaching. The City of Thomson will have its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m., and the annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, Dec. 12 starting at 2 p.m.

Warren County will have an event in Jewell, Georgia on Friday, Dec. 10 that will start around 5 p.m. and go until about 8 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 11 Warren County will have their parade, and it will start around 5 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., according to Jeffrey Fowler, President and CEO of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce.

Harlem will be hosting their annual Christmas in Harlem festival on Saturday, Dec. 11 starting at 12 p.m. and it will run until 10 p.m. There will also be a parade and tree lighting, as well.

Glascock County will be hosting their Glascock County Holiday weekend, starting on Saturday Dec. 4, with their Deer Competition.

In order to win the competition, competitors will have their deer weighed and whoever has the heaviest deer by noon on that day, Dec. 4, will win a $100 gift certificate to Bayne Kelley Outdoors and Big John’s Deer Processor. There will be vendors present from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Christmas Parade will start at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 5, the Lighting in the Square will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
