NOTICE OF LOCATION AND DESIGN APPROVAL P. I. 0013925 MCDUFFIE COUNTY Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project. The date of location and design approval is: __January 28, 2020____ Project 0013925 is located approximately 3.6 miles South-East of Thomson, Georgia in McDuffie County and will replace the bridge located at SR 10/US 278 (Augusta Hwy) over Sweetwater Creek. The Project begins and ends approximately 500 feet before and after the existing bridge and will have a total project length of 0.23 miles. The project is in GMD 134. The proposed bridge will be constructed along the existing alignment and traffic will be maintained during construction with an off-site detour for a duration of approximately 9 months. The replacement bridge will be a 95-foot long single span bridge. The proposed typical section of the roadway approaches would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders (4-foot paved).
