Lambert arrested, charged with aggravated assault

A Stapleton man was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with aggravated assault and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to a release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Glascock County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 4:30 p.m. regarding a person shooting a firearm at another individual on Highway 80 in Stapleton. Glascock deputies identified Hubert Lambert, 61, of Stapleton, as the shooter. He fired at Ronald Harris, 38, at Lambert's residence located in the 5900 block of Highway 80.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., the Glascock County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the GBI Region 7 Office with the aggravated assault investigation. GBI agents and Glascock deputies conducted interviews, and preliminary information revealed Lambert had shot his firearm at Harris. The GBI release said no one sustained injuries in the incident.

On Jan. 3, at approximately 9 p.m., Lambert was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault against Harris. Lambert was transported to the McDuffie County Jail.
