Harold Glennie Peebles|
Harold Glennie Peebles, 66, beloved husband of Mrs. Wanda Peebles, entered into rest Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, in University Hospital Augusta.† He was the son of the late Mr. William Adolphus Peebles and Mrs. Marywill Kitchens Peebles.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with the Dr. Phil Pilgrim officiating.
Mr. Peebles was a native of Jefferson County but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a retired superintendent with Allen-Batchelor Construction.
Mr. Peebles was preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Elkins and a brother Charles Peebles.† Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wanda Peebles, Thomson; four daughters, Tammy Cioe (Bobby), Marsha Peebles, Christina Peebles, and Wendy McTaggart (Phillip); two sons, Harold A. Peebles (Jessica) and Eric Craft (Stormey); sister, Carolyn Woods; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Curtis Funeral Home. The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Rosa Lee Rabun Edwards, 83, entered into rest Dec. 8, 2017.
Mrs. Edwards was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia, and the daughter of the late Otis Rabun and the late Willie Esther Street Rabun. In the past she worked with her sister, Catherine Neal, at Nealís BBQ in Harlem, but most of all enjoyed keeping children and grandchildren the better part of her life. She was a faithful and devoted homemaker. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Second Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Timothy J. Edwards; son, Vernon Edwards; brother, Otis Rabun; and sisters, Marcia Rabun and Catherine Neal.
Survivors include her sons, Glenn Edwards (Susan), Douglas Edwards (Wanda), Tim Edwards and Robert Edwards (Elizabeth) all of Thomson, GA; sister, Margaret Hughes (Larry) of Dearing, GA, Patricia Wyatt (Billy) of Thomson, GA and 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Eugene "Blue Boy" Smith
Eugene Smith, 67, of 1625 Hobbs Mill Road, Dearing, passed on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at University Hospital-Augusta.
Family and friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Jennifer Burley, 3563 Radford Culberth Road, Dearing, Georgia, or the funeral home.
Visitation will be held Dec. 15 at Thomson Funeral System from noon to 7 p.m. and Dec. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Harlem with the Rev. A. Maurice Booker officiating. Interment will follow at the churchís cemetery.
