This year marks Holley Jewelers 30th Christmas in business.
The business was founded in Harlem in November 1987, and owner Terry Holley said the store has always taken pride in customer service, honesty above profit and celebrating long-time relationships with customers and the community.
From a young age, Holley has wanted to be a jeweler.
“I wanted to be a jeweler since I was a young boy,” Holley said. “I was fascinated when I would go into the local jewelry store and thought it was very unique and interesting.”
Holley said he enjoys many aspects of the jewelry business including dealing with the specialty of precious metals and stones as well as being entrusted with his customers’ keepsakes and being part of the excitement of special occasions.
Over the past 30 years, Holley Jewelers has set itself apart from other jewelry businesses.
“What sets us apart is product knowledge, an attentiveness to customer satisfaction, a conscientious effort to serve the customer and community and a belief that honesty and integrity not only pay off but are the hallmarks of business,” Holley said.
These ideals help Holley Jewelers stay ahead of the competition as there are fewer jewelry stores in the area and more competition from the Internet.
To continue to improve the store, Holley said he plans to carry more branded items in the future as well as expand the amount of custom work and repair business the store already specializes in doing.
With 30 years in business, Holley said he is looking forward to the future.
“We’re looking forward to a bright future as we have immensely enjoyed our past,” Holley said.
