Glascock County man arrested for alleged obscene contact with child

Andrew Kemp, 27 of Gibson, was arrested and charged with Obscene Internet contact with a Child and Obscene Telephone Contact with a Child.

On Oct. 31, 2017 at approximately 8:30 am it was reported to Glascock County School Administration and SRO Deputy McGahee that Andrew Kemp, a volunteer camera person for athletics at the school, was having inappropriate conversations with some high school student athletes. The parents of these students were contacted and informed of the allegations and ongoing investigation. Deputy McGahee determined that alleged incidents had taken place off campus and notified Sheriff Jeremy Kelley.

Sheriff Jeremy Kelley began conducting interviews along with Deputy McGahee and school staff. During the next week statements and electronic evidence was gathered. On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at approximately 10:30 am Kemp was arrested and charged with Obscene Internet Contact with a Child and Obscene Telephone Contact with a Child. Mr. Kemp will have no further association with the Glascock County School System. He has been released on bond.
