Mabel Kennedy Woods
Mabel Kennedy Woods of Stagecoach Road entered into rest Nov. 4, 2017.
Mrs. Woods was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Johnny Alvin Kennedy and the late Emma Byce Kennedy. She was a homemaker and she retired from Moore’s in Thomson as a sales associate. Mrs. Woods was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Woods; daughter, Rebecca Higdon and sons, Joey Higdon and James Higdon.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Higdon (Christine); sisters, Margaret Quick, Dorothy Johnson, Sheila Thompson; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Holbrook officiating.
 The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m., prior to the service.
 Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

Lois Harris
Lois Harris, 92, formerly of Crawfordville, Georgia, entered into rest on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at the Thomson Health & Rehabilitation Center. Her loving & devoted family will cherish her memories.
A viewing will be held on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at D.T. Brown Memorial Funeral Home, 810 Martin Luther King Jr. St. Thomson. Funeral Services will be held Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church in Washington, Georgia. Internment will follow the service.
D.T. Brown Memorial Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

Maureen Smith
Maureen Darraugh Smith, 70, beloved wife of 24 years to Mr. Mel Smith of Crestview Drive entered into rest Friday evening Oct. 27, 2017 at her residence.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Warrenton with the Revs. Sandra Leightner and Jim Hanna officiating.
Mrs. Smith, a native of Hollywood, California, was the daughter of the late Edward James Darraugh and Frances Migliaccio Darraugh. A resident of Warrenton since 2007, Mrs. Smith was a Tole Painting Instructor and Co-Owner of the Uno Picclo Italian Restaurant. An active citizen, Mrs. Smith served as Chairperson of Better Hometown Warrenton, Inc. and Vice Chair of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Mrs. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warrenton.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two step daughters, Samantha (Jeff) Barker of Quail Valley, CA, Taryn (Scott) Vocke of Laguna Niguel, CA, ; one step son, Paul (Billie) Smith of Long Beach, CA, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brother, James E. Darraugh.
Friends may call at the residence.
