Elaine Baxter Denton, 76, entered into rest on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Through the years, Mrs. Denton cared for and raised many children in her home.
Survivors include her children, William “PeeWee” Harvey, Darrell Lucas, Rex Harvey, Johnny Lucas, Becky Wright and Laura Taylor; one brother, Ross “Buddy” Baxter; two sisters, Sue Sanders and Frances Harvey; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children, Patricia McCandless, Edward Jackson and Diane Staple, and her three sisters, Pat Blackmon, Janette Galbreath and Joyce Shull.

Jewell Morris Williamson
Jewell Morris Williamson, 83, of Greenville, died Sunday, October 29, 2017.    Born in Thomson, GA, she was a daughter of the late Pernon Blue and Ruth Agnes Kelley Morris.
Jewell was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Erin Williamson, of Greenville; a son, Jay Williamson (Diane), of Sugar Land, TX; four grandchildren, Eric and Jessica Williamson, Amy Lane Stewart, and Jason Lane; nine great grandchildren, Audrey and Emily Williamson, Chloe, Lydia, and Charlotte Lane, and Trey, Seth, Ava, and Micah Stewart; and two fur babies, Luna and Norman Levi.
 In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrie Williamson Lane; two grandchildren, Gene and Matthew Lane; a sister, Elizabeth Rogers; five brothers, Donald, Lanier, Rainey, James, and Harold Morris; and former husband, John G. Williamson, Jr.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Morris Family Cemetery in Thomson, GA.

Donald Hampton

Shorty departed this life on Oct. 25, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio. Donald was born on April 30, 1955, to the late Robert Lee Hampton and Margedrella White Hampton. Shorty will always be known for his mechanical skills. Donald is preceded in death by his father Mr. Robert Lee Hampton; mother, Mrs. Margedrella White Hampton; brothers, Mr. Roy Lee Hampton and Mr. Willie Eugene “Bo” Hampton. Those left to cherish his memory are: one daughter, Amie (Clyde) Butler; two grandchildren, Samantha Robinson and Oshea Butler, of Augusta, Georgia; six sisters, Mrs. Helena Ivey, Mrs. Mary Slaughter, Thomson, Georgia, Ms. Nancy Hampton, Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Gennece Hampton, Harlem, Georgia, Mrs. Linda (Denson) Mahone, Columbus, Georgia, and Mrs. Marsha Heard, Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Mr. Robert Lee Hampton Jr., Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Forrest Hampton, Thomson, Georgia, and Mr. Walter Ricky Hampton, Atlanta, Georgia; a special friend, Mrs. Louise Slaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Russell Richards
Russell Richards, 77, of Luke Rd. entered into rest October 29, 2017.
Mr. Richards was born in Warren County, GA and was the son of the late Leonard Cody Richards and the late Lucille Thigpen Richards. He lived most of his life in McDuffie County, worked at Kingsley Mill for 25 years and was the co-owner of Richards’ Flowers and Gifts. Mr. Richards enjoyed fishing at Briar Creek and Rocky Comfort Creek. He also enjoyed hunting and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Richards was predeceased by a brother, Lamar Richards and grandson, Drake Widener.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Richards; son, Mark Richards (Teresa); daughters, Bonnie Widener (Skipper) and Jennifer Rodeheaver (Chad) ; sisters, Joyce Hinton, and Roslyn Johnson; brother, Johnny Richards; grandchildren, Harris Richards (Crystal), Brenton Widener (Courtney), Will Richards, Colson Avant, Cayden Avant, Elise Grace Rodeheaver; great great grandchildren, Noah Widener, Little Russell Richards and Titus Widener.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
