Kathryn (Kathy) Lokey Palmer of St. Simons Island, GA beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sept. 1, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family.
Kathy's sweet, friendly and warm personality will be missed by many including her husband of 60 years, Eugene Harwell Palmer, Jr.; her sons, Dr. Eugene Harwell Palmer, III (Cathey) of Pinehurst, NC, and Benjamin Malone Palmer (Kay) of Atlanta, GA; and her daughter, Kathryn Palmer Tison (Perry) of Blackshear, GA. She will especially be missed by her grandchildren, Joshua Palmer, Laura Cahoy, Sarah Palmer Smith and Carlin Palmer, Ben Jr. and Matt Palmer, Ansley Tison Northcutt and Trey Tison; her great grandchildren, Colin and Kathryn Smith and Sarah Kathryn Northcutt, who all affectionately called her “Nonnie.” Kathy was born on Sept. 16, 1938, in Thomson, Georgia, to the late Leonard Nunnally Lokey Sr. and the late Martha Brown Lokey. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Nunnally Lokey Jr. Still surviving is a sister, Martha Lokey Lovett of Covington; a brother-in-law, John Augustus Palmer of St. Simons Island; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Tharpe Lokey of Griffin.
Kathy was an active member of Christ Church Frederica and volunteer for The Altar Guild.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 2:30 in the afternoon at Christ Church Frederica with a reception to follow immediately in the Parish Hall. Prior to the memorial service, a private family interment service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Church Frederica, The Altar Guild, 6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA 31522.

Theresa S. Milford, 51, wife of Hugh Milford, entered into rest Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at her residence. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Queen of Angels Church with Father Stephen Lyness and Father Bill Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Theresa was born in Germany to Jerry Sims Sr. (Henri) and Sandra Faye Cross. She moved to Georgia in 1984 where she was the secretary at Queen of Angels Church in Thomson, Georgia, for 12 years and also a babysitter. Survivors include her husband Hugh Milford; her sons, Daniel Rhodes and Eric Milford (Katie); Her daughter, Hannah Milford; her brothers, Jerry Sims Jr. (Lynne), Rusty Meadows (Kristin) and Chuck Meadows; her sisters, Diane Lewis (Bo) and DeeDee Masters (Lynn); her three grandchildren, Braelyn, Taegan and Stella. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph “Joe” Sims. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Queen of Angels Church, 1326 Washington Rd. Thomson, Georgia, 30824 Pallbearers will be Joe Sims, William “Buddy” Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Adam Widener, Troy Widener and Jesse Sims. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bailey Jones.
Visitation were held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
