Honorees bring many accolades to Brickyard Wall of Fame

Three more names will be added to the Wall of Fame at Luther Welsh Field at The Brickyard this year.
John Barnett, Jerry Mays and Mike Perry will be honored at this yearís 2017 Brickyard Wall of Fame Banquet Saturday, Aug. 26.
The wall, just inside the main entrance to the stadium, honors individuals who have made significant contributions or have achieved extraordinary success through their involvement with athletics in the McDuffie County School System.
The Thomson Bulldog Athletic Booster Club sponsors the event, and in a press release, Jay Poston said the club strives to shine the light of those who have made a difference.
This yearís banquet will be held in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m. Nealís BBQ will cater the meal and tickets are $20 and available at Thomson High School, Two State Construction Co., Queensborough Bank-Thomson Branch and Watson & Knox Insurance.
