Larry Ellis
Larry Ellis, 62, of Beechtree Acres Rd., entered into rest June 17, 2017 at University Hospital-Augusta.
Mr. Ellis was born in Griffin, Georgia, to the late William Edward Ellis and the late Evelyn Leona Williams Ellis. He grew up in Warren County and lived in Gibson for many years. He was a retired construction worker and a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellis was predeceased by his wife, Judith Ellis; sister, Faye E. Gunn and brother, Ralph Ellis.
Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Ellis (Kristina), Johnny Gardella (Leslie), Jeffery Gardella (Susan), Jason Gardella (Stacy), Michael Jackson; daughters, Tina Ellis, Beth Ellis; brothers, Douglas Ellis,  Buddy Ellis; sisters, Pat Kitchens, Deloria Toulson, Felicia Johnson, Terri Bales and Monica Ellis and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Ellis and Brother Charles Gunn officiating. Interment will follow at Sallie Hill Cemetery, Warrenton, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Gianfrancesco
Mary Gianfrancesco, 89, of Cobbham Rd., Thomson, Georgia, entered into rest on Friday, June 16, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Lincolnton, Ga.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at noon at  Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Thomson, Georgia. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Washington, Georgia.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. the morning of the service at the church.
Ms. Gianfrancesco, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Damiano DeFilippo, was a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and retired from Rockwell International as an executive secretary. She has lived in Thomson, Georgia, for the past eight years and was member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Survivors include: a son, Mark Gianfrancesco and wife, Traci of Dacula, Georgia; a daughter, Mary Grace Brooks and husband, Tim of Lincolnton, Georgia; grandchildren, Megan Edmunds, Emily Edmunds, Nick Edmunds, Jantzen Gianfrancesco, Dale Adams and Casey Adams; and five great- grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Queen of Angels Catholic Church or the charity of one's choice.

Sherri Morgan Cooper
Sherri Morgan Cooper, 58, of Neals Mill Rd. entered into rest June 15, 2017.
Sherri was born in Augusta, Georgia, but lived in Dearing for many years. She was retired from the Commissary at Fort Gordon. Sherri attended Life Ministries. She was predeceased by her father, Gerald Wayne Morgan.
Survivors include her daughter, Staci Thompson (Dennis Jr.); son, Chad Cooper; mother, Janice Broxton (James); brothers, Jerry Morgan, (Billy), Stephen Morgan (Sheri), Travis Morgan and grandchildren, Jayden Cooper and soon to be born, Jackson Thompson.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 2017, in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Donnie Rogers officiating. 
The family received friends at the funeral home.

Dorothy Doss Branch
Dorothy Doss Branch, 93, widow of Mr. Charles Branch, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 14, 2017, in Doctors Hospital.
The funeral services was held at 11 A.M., Friday, June 16, 2017, at First Baptist Church Thomson, with the Rev. David Lambert officiating.  Burial followed in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Branch was a native of Talmo, Georgia, but lived in Thomson for many years.  She was a retired clerk of McDuffie County Probate Court, and a member of Thomson First Baptist Church.  She will be remembered for her strong faith which she lived out in her daily life by joyfully serving her family, friends and church.
Mrs. Branch is survived by a daughter, Charlene B. Smith (John), Evans; two sons, C. Hayden Branch Jr. (Betsy), Windermere, Fl.,  Steven Branch (Patrice), Martinez; two brothers, Calvin Doss, Wilmington, N.C., Ray Doss, Athens, Ga.; a sister, Christine Reeves, Waynesboro, Ga.; six grandchildren, Chris Smith, Brett Smith, Craig Smith (Joanna), Davis Branch, Jessica Young (Zack), and Justin Branch (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, Sanders Smith and Warner Young.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and Russell Gary.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to JoAnn Benning, Bea Lamkin and the staff of Camellia Walk Assisted Living for the care given to their mother.
Memorials may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at First Baptist Church.

Rev. Ricky E. Battle Sr.
The Rev. Ricky Edward Battle Sr., 54, of 140 Pounds Street, Thomson, GA passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, GA. Relatives and or friends may call at his son’s residence, Rev. Ricky Battle, Jr., 1281 Huntly Circle, Thomson, GA or at the funeral home.

Ricky Edward Battle, Sr. was born on Friday, July 13, 1962, in Augusta, Georgia, to Pearl Moss and Jimmy Burley. Ricky Sr. received his education by attending the public schools of Warren County, Georgia. He graduated from the Warren County High School with the Class of 1980. In 1981, he enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. After 20 years, 2 months and 14 days of dedicated service, he retired from the military.
At an early age Ricky Sr. joined the Paynes Baptist Church of Mesena, Georgia. While under the leadership of the Rev. Lester Woods, Ricky Edward Battle Sr. was called into the ministry…thus eventually becoming the Rev. Ricky Edward Battle Sr. On Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1983 Rev. Battle Sr. married the love of his life, Cathy Carlton. From this holy union four children were born.
Without any doubt, it can be said over and over again that the Rev. Ricky Edward Battle Sr. truly loved the Lord, and believed in His word. In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 15, 2017, the Lord took his faithful servant home. The beloved Rev. Ricky Edward Battle Sr. went from ‘Labor to Reward’ to forever rest in the Bosom of Abraham. Our loved-one was adored by many and appreciated by even more. As we continue to live for God, we will always keep the faith and forever keep our dearly departed memory alive. Those who have preceded Rev. Battle, Sr. in death are: a daughter, Ashley Nicole Battle; his biological mother, Pearl Moss Hudson, his biological father, Jimmy Burley and his adoptive mother, Sarah Battle.
He leaves to cherish his legacy of memories: a loving and devoted wife, Cathy Battle of Thomson, GA; three sons, Chief Apostle Ricky Jr. (Prophetess Markita) Battle, Tarvarus D. (Jasmine) Battle and Anthony Battle, all of Thomson, GA; four grandchildren, Antwan Battle, Jeremiah Battle, Joshua Battle and Jordyn Battle, all of Thomson, GA; two sisters, Felicia Burley of Warrenton, GA and Mittie Horton of Mesena, GA; one brother, Jimmy (Delorise) Burley of Warrenton, GA; a mother-in-law, Janie Carlton of Thomson, GA; an additional sister-in-law, Camilla Collins of Thomson, GA; one brother-in-law, Timothy Carlton of Thomson, GA; a niece raised as a sister, Dorothy Green of Thomson, GA; four special nephews, James Battle of Mesena, GA, Leo Lee of Augusta, GA, Clayton Lee, Jr. and Robert “Bob” Lee, both of Warrenton, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church members and friends.
Visitation was held June 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at Thomson Funeral System and from 1 to 2 p.m. at Green Branch Baptist Church in Thomson. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on June 20 at Green Branch Baptist Church in Thomson with the Rev. Ricky E. Battle Jr. officiating. A repast was also held at the residence of Ricky E. Battle Jr. on June 20.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of the arrangements.
