McDuffie County Sheriff's Office asking for public's assistance

The McDuffie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. on May 16, 2017, in the 1100 Harrison Drive in Thomson.

The stolen credit card was used at Happy Valley Store, located at the corner of Wrens Highway and Happy Valley Road, approximately 45 minutes after the robbery. A check of the security cameras at the store located at the store shows a male dressed in dark clothing using stolen card.

According to a McDuffie County Sheriff's Office incident report, the victim reported being robbed of his wallet which contained his debit card, drivers license and social security card, etc. between 5 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. by an unknown African-American assailant dressed in all black clothing He described the assailant as being 6'1".

According to McDuffie County Sheriff's Office Major Ronnie Williamson, the suspect in the pictures matches the description of the person the victim states committed the robbery. Information developed from investigation led the investigators to believe the suspect lives in the Thomson area and may do construction work which requires him to travel out of town.
