Two-vehicle crash on Bypass leads to serious injury
By Caitlin Boland

The Air Med helicopter had to land on the Thomson Bypass to transport Myrtis Prevette to AU Medical Center.
McDuffie County Fire/EMS and the Thomson Police Department were called to a two-vehicle accident on the Thomson Bypass on May 14.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Austin Wynn, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a white Chevrolet sedan driven by Myrtis Prevette, 92, of Thomson, was traveling west on Whiteoak Road near the intersection with the Thomson Bypass.
Another vehicle, a silver Chrysler sedan driven by Demondre Brown, 23, of Lincolnton, was traveling southbound on the Bypass.
Brown told Wynn that both vehicles had a green light, and the Chevrolet turned left off of Whiteoak Road in front of him, causing the front of his car to strike the passenger side of the Chevy.
