McDuffie Co. Farm Bureau donates Ag Library to NES
By

Norris Elementary School Media Specialist Tammy Story and MFB Educational Liaison Angie Roberts stand by the newly donated Ag Library.
On April 21, Norris Elementary School received a customized Agricultural Library donated by McDuffie County Farm Bureau. The library includes a set of 28 age-appropriate books with agricultural themes.
Lesson plans and resources aligned to 4th and 5th grade standards were also provided as a means to assist teachers in incorporating agriculture education into the regular curriculum.
McDuffie Farm Bureau partnered with Thomson-McDuffie Middle School FFA students who constructed the barn-themed bookshelf. The shelf was painted by TMMS art students. The book display and resources are housed in the NES Media Center.
One of the missions of McDuffie County Farm Bureau is to increase agricultural literacy. MFB is working closely with local schools to assist in providing opportunities for PK-12 students to become more aware of and to have first-hand experiences related to the vital role that agriculture plays in our daily lives.
