City completes Forest Clary work, to begin Dell Dr. improvements
By Linda Green

The City of Thomson has completed its work on infrastructure improvements on Forest Clary Drive and has spent $647,611 to make life a little easier for residents living there.
The City of Thomson held a public hearing April 27 to provide information on accomplishments and close-out of the 2014 Community Development Block Grant Project (CBDG), an exercise between Thomson and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, (GDCA) to build viable neighborhoods.
Led by Linda Grijalva, director of community development for the CSRA Regional Commission, Thomson completed infrastructure improvements along Forest Clary that include sewer construction, flood/drainage and street enhancements that benefit 63 people. Of those individuals, 51 or 81 percent are of low and moderate-income households.
“We did it,” she said. The community block grant project was paid for by $500,000 from the GDCA and a match by the City of Thomson.
