Robert Sapp baseball camp returns to Thomson June 19
By

The 37th annual Robert Sapp Baseball Camp and Girls Softball Camp is accepting applications for its summer session to be held at Sweetwater Park June 19-23.
Camps are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are for boys ages 7-14 and girls ages 7-15. Six year olds may attend if they are skilled enough to play with the seven-year-old groups. The fee is $135 with team rates available. ($10 discount for five or more players from one spring/summer league team or travel team.)
Former Middle Georgia College and University of Georgia head baseball coach Robert Sapp will direct the camps. Sapp has directed numerous camps for the past 36 years throughout Georgia. More than 100 of Sapp’s former players have signed professional contracts and 21 have played in the major leagues. Sapp’s college coaching record was 915-210. High school coaches from the state and former and present college and pro players will also make up the staffs. No high school players will be on the staff.
The girls softball camp will also be held at the Sweetwater Park Softball Complex. Several area high school coaches will make up the staff. The girls camp will follow the same structure as the boys camp and will be competely separate from the boys camp.
