Truck stop robbed of cash and items during morning invasion
By Linda Green

The truck stop and market affectionately known as Samuels was robbed Feb. 13, and the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the culprits.
Deputies were dispatched to the Chevron Food Mart (Samuels) at 2657 Cobbham Road at 5:15 a.m. to investigate a forcible entry at the store.

The department’s investigators say that sometime before 5:13 a.m., at least three individuals dressed in dark clothing and two with their faces covered, entered the store and stole money, Georgia lottery tickets and two computer hard drives.
Sheriff’s Office Major Ronnie Williamson said surveillance cameras show the suspects entering the store and leaving in what appears to be a U-Haul rental pickup truck. He said the investigation is proceeding, and anyone with information or anyone remembering seeing suspicious activities near the truck stop on Feb. 13 is encouraged to call Sgt. Larry Adaway of the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office at (706)597-2616 or call their local law enforcement agency.
