Pedestrian hit by car at Jackson-Hill crosswalk

Thomson Fire Rescue firefighters and EMTs and Thomson Police officers treat a woman at the gas pump of the Sprint Food Store after the pedestrian was hit by a car in the crosswalk at the intersection of Jackson Street and East and West Hill streets shortly before 8 a.m., Feb. 14.
A car struck a woman in the crosswalk of a Thomson street Tuesday morning, and the woman was transported to Augusta University Medical Center for her injuries Feb. 14.
Shortly before 8 a.m., the woman, identified as Toni Crane, crossed the street at the intersection of Jackson and East and West Hill streets after buying coffee at the Sprint Convenience Store and was hit by a car, turning left. The woman is a resident at the nearby motel on Jackson Street.
The police began their investigation in the middle of the crosswalk where a puddle of coffee remained.
I was at the red light at Jackson Street. The light turned green, and I had the green arrow. I started to turn left and she was there, said Ree Walker of Thomson, the driver of the car that hit the pedestrian.
