The Thomson Bulldogs came away with two big wins over the weekend to keep them close to the top in Region 3-AAAA.
On Friday, Thomson defeated Cross Creek 65-56 at The Dog House. Saturday night, the Dogs traveled to Milledgeville and defeated Baldwin 48-36.
The Bulldogs held Cross Creek to 6 points in each of the first two periods and took a 31-12 lead to halftime.
In the second half, the Dogs played sporadically, allowing the visitors many scoring opportunities.
“We would play well, and then we would relax,” said Michael Thomas, Thomson head coach.
“Cross Creek hung around and our play allowed them to stay in it.”
Radaren Johnson led THS with 27 points, and Darius Turman was next with 14 points, including three slam dunks that got the team and fans fired up.
