Dogs drop two region games, defeat Alcovy
By Jim Wallace

A referee keeps an eye on the action as Thomson tries to tie up an Alcovy player.
The Thomson High School Lady Bulldogs lost two region games, but they defeated a Class AAAAA opponent recently.
On Jan. 17, the Lady Dogs were dominated at Richmond Academy, 65-33.
Point power problems in the first and third periods, combined with a 24-point third period by ARC meant a rough night for the THS girls.
“We played a decent first half only being down seven,” said Michael Williams, THS head coach.
“Going into halftime the coaching staff and I thought we found a defensive strategy that would contain Jasmine Robinson, their Troy University signee point guard. However, in the second half we could not stop her explosive penetration, as she hit a night high of 33 points.”
THS also struggled at the free-throw line, hitting just 5-of-20.
Miyah Rogers led Thomson with 11, and Jamiah Lane and Ty’Keria Hart each hit six points for the Lady Dogs.
