By Linda Green

Four people with more than $900 in counterfeit bills in their vehicle were arrested Jan. 13 by the Thomson Police Department.
The four people, three from Florida and one from Augusta, were caught after one attempted to make a purchase with a $50 counterfeit bill at the Family Dollar on Main Street.
According to Police Sgt. Willie Williams, the two men and two women were caught in the parking lot of Walgreens by a patrol unit after they left the Auto Advance store.
He said they were initially called to Family Dollar to investigate a $50 counterfeit bill, but the suspect had already departed. He said police received a description of the van and soon located it further down Washington Road.
Arrested and charged with two counts of forgery in the second degree were Ronald Kelly Jr., 35, of Miami, Florida; Darron E. Bodie, 34, of Pendbrook Pine, Florida; Tiffany C. White, 33, of Augusta; and Victoria L. Smith, 31, of Miami. Kelly also received a possession of marijuana charge.
