• Bucs 2-0 after 52-20 win over First Presbyterian
By Wayne Parham

Two seasons into the regular season, the Briarwood Academy Bucanners are undefeated following Friday night’s 52-20 win over the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders.
“It was a good game for us. We got plenty of kids involved and we got some guys in the game that have been working hard at practice and deserved some playing time. They got to showcase their abilities,” said Bo Fleming, Briarwood head coach. “Our older kids did what they were supposed to do and got us a lead so we could play some of our younger guys.”
Briarwood stretched out to a 20-0 lead by the end of the opening quarter then added two more touchdowns in the second. At the half, the Bucs led 33-6.
After a scoreless third quarter, both teams found the end zone several times in the fourth quarter.
On offense, the Bucs amassed 401 yards rushing and 31 through the air.
Dakota Reese led the team in rushing with a total of 214 yards, 13 carries, and one touchdown run. He also had a 14-yard receiving touchdown.
But, younger brother Dylan Reese also had a big night as carried 11 times for 114 yards and a touchdown.
