Cars collide at Cobbham-Bypass intersection
By Linda Green

Two cars collided when a driver failed to yield at the intersection of Cobbham Road and the Thomson-Bypass on Aug. 20.
The midmorning accident occurred when Olivia Fryar, 18, failed to yield while making a left turn onto the bypass from Cobbham Road, said Georgia State Patrol Trooper John Freeman.
The trooper said that Fryar, of the 700 block of Rye Hill Drive in Evans, driving a 2013 Ford Fusion collided nearly head-on with Cynthia Williamson’s Dodge Stratus.
Freeman said that Williamson, 52, of the 580 block of Oakwood Road in Thomson, was heading west on Cobbham Road and crossing the Bypass, when Fryar hit her.
“Both had the green light and Fryar failed to yield the right of way and they struck each other head-on,” Freeman said.
Williamson, who was injured, was transported to Georgia Regents University Medical Center.
