Lady Dogs dominate Grovetown at home
By Brian Bowden

The Thomson High School Lady Dogs (4-3, 2-0), despite a 30-minute weather delay, handled the Grovetown Lady Warriors (4-3, 2-2) at home on August 21, 15-10. "With Grovetown, it has kind of become a rivalry for the kids," said THS Head Softball Coach Crystal Strickland. "They were ready for them."
Behind Harlem High School graduate and first year head coach Strickland, the Lady Dogs started the game out strong by putting up five runs in the first and three in the second. "We've been concentrating, offensively, on hitting the ball in its location," said Strickland. "If you get behind in the count, you have to be able to hit the outside pitch because that's where the pitcher is going to throw it to." THS did just that. She went on to say, "Im real big on putting it in play. You don't have a chance to get on base if you don't put it in play. So, we're not going to stand up there and look at it."
