Drunk driver hits bicycling boy
By Linda Green

A drunk driver injured a three-year old boy riding his bicycle on a sidewalk along Pitts Street on the evening of July 30.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Anthony McGahee, 3, was riding his bicycle east on the sidewalk north of Pitts Street when he was struck by a pickup driven by Jimmie Collins, 64, of the 130 block of Kingstown Way.
Collins, driving west on Pitts Street in a 2010 Ford pickup, drifted over to the sidewalk and struck the bicycle and McGahee, said GSP.
After an investigation, it was determined that Collins was impaired and he was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane. The injured McGahee was transported to Georgia Regents University Hospital.
